Foreword, forward

The creation of Lost Not Yet Found has been ongoing for years - at first a nameless ideation to a child with a birth certificate. So many times I’ve roamed the streets of a new city and thought to myself, “ah, I’ll capture it this way!” but never felt legitimate enough to really put it down anywhere. But here I am, mostly in ode to that particular thought rising up time and time again while traveling. Poorly illustrated, but that’s my point. We get lost in a new environment, and in the process of finding our way we gain not only knowledge of said environment but also a little bit more about ourselves. This process, much like these words here, is continuous. Life is time given to observe, participate, and become. To me, the title “Lost Not Yet Found” is hopeful, curious, and an indication of discovery around the corner.

Just to be straight, this is not going to be a series of marvelous literary artwork. I don’t consider myself a good writer, nor do I intend to become one. What I do intend for this collection of writing to be is an honest reflection of my thoughts and experiences, to be a second home for my memories so friends can stop by, and to be a vessel to hold my late-night Wikipedia rabbit holes as well as my embarrassing encounters. All that paired with snapshots from my little point-and-shoot Minolta and Pentax cameras.

This is not a travel blog; this is not a lifestyle blog. This is a home to my memories and thoughts.

Welcome, I hope you stay awhile.
